History Frederick Douglass: Pathway from Slavery to Freedom is an Emmy Award-winning original half-hour historical drama about the life of the young Frederick Douglass. Aired nationally on PBS. It is the pilot and one of three films already produced for a 39-part series that takes a break-the-mold approach to telling the story of America’s past to “tweens” using cutting-edge media and multiple content platforms—television, DVD, interactive website, graphic novels, and middle school social studies classroom curricula.
Wings of Madness premiered on PBS NOVA and is now in international distribution. The one-hour film, based on a book of the same title, tells the heroic and tragic story of Alberto Santos-Dumont, one of aviation’s greatest pioneers and visionaries. Rare archival footage of Santos-Dumont's original flights is blended with staged re-enactments shot on location in France and Brazil. Extensive CGI masterfully composited with live action footage creates the “you are there” experience of watching Santos-Dumont's historic 1901 dirigible flight around the Eiffel Tower. Written and produced by Palace in association with WGBH (Boston), France 5 (France) and TV Globo (Brazil).
